A swimming pool may be the centerpiece of a backyard, but the landscape surrounding it is what transforms the area into a complete outdoor living environment. If you're planning a new pool or renovating an existing pool area in Central Ohio, one of the biggest questions is: How much does pool landscaping cost? The answer depends on what you want the space around your pool to become. A project focused on new plantings and a refreshed pool surround requires a very different inv

If you're planning a new patio, outdoor kitchen, pool surround or complete backyard transformation, it's easy to start by thinking about construction. But before anything is built, there's another important part of the investment: The design. Professional landscape design creates the roadmap for your entire outdoor project. It determines how spaces connect, where features belong, how materials work together and how the finished environment responds to your property. And with

If you're considering transforming your backyard, one of the first questions you're likely to have is simple: How much is this going to cost? The less simple answer is that there isn't one standard price for a professionally designed and built outdoor living space. A new patio and planting refresh may have very different requirements than a complete backyard transformation incorporating a pavilion, outdoor kitchen, retaining walls, landscape lighting and pool surroundings. Pr

You know you want to transform your backyard. Maybe you're imagining a new paver patio and landscaping. Or perhaps the vision is much larger: a pavilion, outdoor kitchen, fireplace, pool environment, retaining walls, landscape lighting and multiple spaces for entertaining. Then comes one of the most important—and sometimes most difficult—questions: How much should you budget for an outdoor living project? There's no universal number. Outdoor living projects can range dramatic

You have a vision for your backyard. A new patio. An outdoor kitchen. A pavilion. Maybe a pool, fireplace, retaining walls, landscape lighting and completely redesigned landscaping. Then comes the practical question: Should you build everything at once, or complete your backyard in phases? For many Central Ohio homeowners, both approaches can work. The more important question is whether the entire backyard has been thoughtfully designed before construction begins. Building in

If you've started researching a landscape renovation or outdoor living project, you've probably discovered something quickly: Landscape project costs can vary significantly. One homeowner may be planning a new patio and planting beds. Another may be transforming a sloped backyard with retaining walls, a pavilion, outdoor kitchen, landscape lighting and extensive grading. Both are landscape projects. But the design, materials, construction and overall investment required to co

If your property has a significant slope, drainage concerns or changing elevations, a retaining wall may be more than a design feature . It may be an essential part of making your outdoor space functional. So, how much does a retaining wall cost in Columbus, Ohio? There isn't one universal price. The cost of a retaining wall depends on its size, height, materials, site conditions, excavation requirements, drainage, accessibility and the structural demands of the project. A sm

There’s a distinct difference between having a pool… …and creating an outdoor environment people never want to leave. The most memorable summer gatherings rarely revolve around the water alone. They revolve around atmosphere. The glow of landscape lighting reflecting across the pool surface. Conversations lingering around a fire feature long after sunset. Music carrying softly through an outdoor lounge while guests move effortlessly between dining, swimming, and relaxation. L

If you're considering adding a paver patio to your home in Columbus, one of your first questions is probably: How much will it cost? The answer depends on much more than the size of the patio. A straightforward paver patio and a complete outdoor living space built with multiple elevations, retaining walls, steps, lighting, an outdoor kitchen or fire feature may both include pavers—but they are very different projects. Material selection, site conditions, excavation, drainage,

An outdoor kitchen can transform a patio from a place to sit into a space designed for cooking, entertaining and spending more time outdoors. Beautiful project photos can show you what a landscape company has built. They cannot tell you what it was like to work with the designer, how the installation crew treated the property, or whether the company followed through when questions arose. Those details are often found in the experiences of past clients. When you are planning a new patio, fire feature, planting design, or complete outdoor living space, you are making a significant investment in your home. The right l

There comes a point in many established Central Ohio homes when the outdoor space no longer feels aligned with the lifestyle happening around it. Not because it has been neglected. Not because it lacks quality. But because the way families live, entertain, relax, and gather naturally evolves over time. The patio that once felt expansive now feels disconnected during gatherings. The landscape beds that once looked polished now feel visually crowded or inconsistent with the arc

Late summer has a way of revealing what is working in your landscape and what is not. By August and early September, your property has experienced months of heat, heavy rain, foot traffic, outdoor gatherings, and everyday use. Areas that appeared fine in spring may begin to hold water. Patio pavers may settle or shift. Plants may struggle in locations that do not provide the right amount of sun, shade, or drainage. You may also realize that your outdoor space simply does not

The right outdoor lighting can completely change how a backyard looks, feels, and functions after sunset. It can illuminate walkways, highlight landscaping, make patios more inviting, and help homeowners enjoy their outdoor living spaces well into the evening. For Ohio homeowners, choosing outdoor lighting requires more than finding attractive fixtures. The system must withstand rain, snow, freezing temperatures, summer humidity, and repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Whether you a
